2010 marks the 65th anniversary of the founding of the League of Arab States. A celebration named "Night of Arab" has been held at the Bridge Art Center in Beijing.
Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi delivered a speech for the celebrations. More than a hundred representatives and guests from Arab states and China were invited to join the "Night of Arab". Authentic Halal food was offered along with diverse art performances.
As the name suggests, Bridge Art Center has become a new platform for better international communications.
Ma Zhen Xuan, organizer of "Night of Arab" in Beijing, said, "Since the opening of the center, we've been making efforts to build a non-governmental bridge for better understanding between countries and communities, especially through various cultural exchanges. "
The League of Arab States was established in 1945 when leaders of Arab States signed a formal declaration entitled "Charter of the League of Arab States". With its headquarters in Cairo, the League comprises of 22 Arab States.
